72-Hour Waiting Period: Your license will be issued 72 hours after payment, unless you qualify for a waiver (military, marital counseling certificate, or judge's order). You may apply for a waiver on the next screen. The license is valid for 90 days.

Texas law requires a 72-hour waiting period before a marriage license becomes effective. The following exemptions are available:
